Current situation of warship garbage disposal

During the long-distance training of naval ships, a large amount of garbage will be generated, which will be piled on the ship and treated after landing. Obviously, it is not advisable. Taking the Chinese aircraft carrier as an example, with 3500 people on board, it is like a mobile city when sailing in the ocean. The amount of garbage produced every day is not only large, but also a wide range of categories - kitchen waste, waste paper, plastic, metal, oil, paint, medical waste, etc. the "daily output" of kitchen waste alone is about 250 kg.

At present, the U.S. warships have been equipped with the plasma arc waste destruction system (pawds) of Canada's Pyr company, which is recognized by the U.S. Navy as the leading on-board waste treatment technology in the market. It is an easy to operate high-temperature plasma waste treatment system. With the one click quick start and close function, pawds can effectively destroy combustible wastes, such as paper, plastic, food, oily rags, with minimal isolation. Adder modules can also be added to destroy waste oil.

The standard capacity of pawds is 200 kg / h, but it can adapt to various energy recovery methods, and it is easy to expand cruise ships upward and frigates and destroyers downward. Pawds has obtained the Med type approval of Lloyd's register of shipping for the treatment of solid waste and sludge oil, which confirms its position as a market standard.
